Brookside Scout Headquarters

Brookside Scout Headquarters

Brookside is the third permanent home which the group has had during its history. Opened in 1985 by H.A. Porter, this purpose built conversion of an old riding school provides the group with excellent facilities set in fields and woodland just along the road from school.

The main building consists of two rooms for the Cub Pack, a large hall for the Scout Troop, with individual patrol rooms for up to 12 patrols, a scouters room and a TL’s room, a suite of rooms upstairs for the Explorer Scouts and also a room for the Guild. In addition we also have a well equipped kitchen and a Scouting Museum. There is also a store room for equipment inside, and some old stables adjacent to the building for larger equipment.

The headquarters are surrounded by woodland and fields which are used extensively in scouting activities and games.
