Day 2 at the 19th Bolton Centenary Camp

On Day 2 we began the day with an early breakfast and a short inspection.

Following this we drove to Nanaimo to watch the world championship of the Bathtub Race. Given free time to explore, Scouts ventured into music stores, restaurants and exhibits. The weather was wonderfully sunny for a full day out of wandering. The junior scouts saw cannons firing and small bathtubs with big engines being launched. The people of Nanaimo were extremely helpful and despite a few wrong turns, everyone returned in one piece.

Upon returning we ate Pasta Carbonara, and Cambridge University graduate Mike Evans delighted in a silly string battle with our TLs while the duty patrol washed up.

After dinner, preparations for the Masterchef competition began and ideas such as Shrimp Stir Fry, Cheesecake and Burgers were discussed. With a few games and a well executed Flag down we drank hot chocolate and turned in for the night.
